Puig-reig-Navàs-Prats de Lluçanès-Sant Feliu Sasserra-Oristà-Sant Bartomeu del Grau-Santa Eulàlia de Puig-oriol-Lluçà-Santa Maria de Merlès-Puig-reig

Cyclists from Berguedà tend to move south when they are looking for less mountainous routes and in Lluçanès they find a paradise.

The Lluçanès does not have the big ascents that the Berguedà has, but it has a broken territory, with constant ups and downs that force you to change registration often and that at the end of the day you can end up with considerable differences in elevation.

In addition, the Lluçanès is a little-known territory with numerous roads, in good condition and with little traffic in general, which makes the routes very safe.

Description

The route starts at the parking lot in the Plaça Nova area of ​​Puig-reig. We will look for the main street in a southerly direction to follow the C-1411z road in the direction of Navàs. We will pass through Cal Marçal and continue down the side of the C-16 until Navàs where we will enter through the exit of the roundabout that indicates it.

Arriving at the roundabout next to the gas station, we will turn left onto the BV-4401 in the direction of Prats de Lluçanès in a steady climb to Sant Pau de Pinós where we will start the descent to near Prats where we will arrive in a slight climb.

Without entering the village, at the first roundabout we will turn right onto the B-431 in the direction of Sant Feliu Sasserra where we will arrive after doing the first part of the route downhill and the second on the flat. Almost at the exit of Sant Feliu we will turn left onto the B-433 which will take us all the way down to Oristá. Here, at the roundabout at the entrance to the village, we will take the last exit in the direction of Sant Bartomeu del Grau-Vic along the same road until we reach the top of the climb and find the new road that connects Berguedà with Osona, the C-62 that we will follow a few meters to the right, up. Immediately, however, we will leave it and turn left in the direction of Sant Bartomeu del Grau. Just to get out, we need to turn left again following the same indication. Further on you have to cross the old road and go straight towards Sant Bartomeu where we arrive in 5 Km.

When we reach the town, we will go along the BV-4601 in the direction of Perafita, where we will not arrive since after the plans of Vilarrasa we will meet the BV-4653 which we will follow to the right in the direction of Sant Agustí de Lluçanès - where we will not arrive either. Between the 15th and 16th kilometer point of this road we will turn left towards Santa Eulàlia de Puig-oriol i Lluçà on the BV-4341, known as the Costa del Gats. We will pass these two towns and arrives at Pedra Dreta. Here we will merge with the C-62 which we will follow on the right in the direction of Gironella. We begin the descent that will take us to the riera de Merlès in the area of ​​the Sant Cristòfol hostel.

At this point, we will leave the main road to follow the course of the stream along the BV-4406 towards the village of Santa Maria de Merlès to begin the final descent that will return us to Puig-reig, the point where we had started the route.
